Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup s Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 cup s marinara sauce
  • 2 cup s shredded mozzarella cheese
  • fresh basil, for garnish
  • spaghetti, for serving

    Preheat oven to 425°F. Set up a breading station with flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a third.

    Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.

    Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Pan-fry chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.

    Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast and top with mozzarella cheese.

    Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly, and chicken reaches 165°F internally.
