Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup dark rum
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 tbsp banana liqueur, optional
- vanilla ice cream, for serving

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until bubbly.

Place banana halves in the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until softened and caramelized.

Remove pan from heat. Add rum (and banana liqueur if using).

Carefully ignite the alcohol with a long lighter or by tilting the pan toward the flame. Let the flames die out naturally.

Spoon the warm bananas and sauce over scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Serve immediately.
