Delete your account in the app
WhatDo?! is operated by DeadBeet LLC. Signed-in users can delete their WhatDo?! account and associated account-backed app data directly in the app.
- On iPhone, iPad, or Mac: open Settings, open Account, then choose Delete Account and All Data.
- On Android: open the account menu, open account details, then choose Delete account.
The app will show a confirmation before deletion. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Request account deletion by email
If you cannot access the app or prefer a manual request, email [email protected] with the subject Delete my WhatDo account.
If possible, send the request from the email address connected to the Apple ID or Google account you used to sign in. If your sign-in provider hides your email address, include the display name or account details you see in WhatDo?! Settings so we can verify the request.
What gets deleted
After a verified account deletion request, we delete or de-identify account-backed WhatDo?! data, including:
- Private kitchen data
- Inventory, shopping lists, Use Soon tracking, meal plans, and personal recipes stored with your account
- Uploaded images associated with your private account data where applicable
- Shared kitchen membership data tied to your account
- Roommate mode data tied to your account, including fridge-note authorship where applicable
- Community profile data, published recipes, recipe reviews, ratings, and collections where applicable
- Cloud sync records and account profile records controlled by DeadBeet LLC
Request data deletion without deleting your account
You may also request deletion of some or all WhatDo?! app data without deleting your full account. Email [email protected] with the subject Delete my WhatDo data and describe which data you want removed.
For example, you can request deletion of community profile data, published recipes, reviews, collections, private kitchen data, or other account-backed app data.
Processing time
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. We may contact you if we need more information to verify the account or identify the data you want deleted.
Data that may be retained
Some information may be retained where necessary or permitted, including:
- Anonymized or aggregated community trends that do not identify you
- Security, fraud-prevention, and operational logs for a limited period
- Purchase, subscription, tax, accounting, or compliance records maintained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or DeadBeet LLC
- Data we are legally required to retain
- Copies of recipes or content that other users saved to their personal collections before your deletion request
Retained records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
